Even though you arent required to have a vehicle safety inspection, it is legal for state highway patrol officers in Ohio to stop any vehicle that they feel could be a threat to other vehicles on the road and require them to get a safety inspection.
Vehicles with a salvage title must also be inspected by the Ohio State Highway Patrol office before being cleared for a rebuilt title. As part of the inspection, they will need to make sure that all the replacement parts were new and purchased by the vehicles owner.
Salvage Title Salvage vehicles are not road worthy and cannot be driven on public roadways until they are properly inspected by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS Original prepaid inspection receipt from the Ohio BMV (Bureau of Motor Vehicles) State issued I.D. or Passport (If driving the vehicle, a valid drivers license is required) Ohio title with the current owner name on the front. All of the Original Receipts for any parts that were replaced on the vehicle.
This cannot be done because the vehicle was never damaged while in the possession of the prior owner; the damage occurred years ago and several owners ago. And, unless you have a Salvage Dealers License, you are not permitted to resell this vehicle.
