I have to apply for a New Jersey placard/plate and I do not have a New Jersey license. What documents do I need? You will need the completed application, medical script or letter, 6 Points of ID and proof of residential address. Review the checklist for instructions.
The fee for a placard is $4.00. You must pay with a check or money order made out to NJMVC.
There is no additional charge for handicapped plates. Applicants without a license or non-driver identification card must prove their identity by passing 6 Point ID Verification. Note: Handicapped plates cannot be issued for vehicles owned by or leased to companies, organizations or groups.
Most cities also have on street parking that is reserved for drivers or passengers with disabilities in vehicles that display a permit. On Street parking places are distinguishable by parking meters or a painted curb. If you have a disabled placard from your home state it will be recognized in most other US states.
Get a handicap parking placard application form, have your doctor fill out their portion, you fill out your portion and either mail it to the address on the form or take it to your local dmv. If your doctor says you are not disabled you cant get one also.
