The Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) is a specialist general practice qualification accredited by the Australian Medical Council. There are multiple pathways to achieving Fellowship. This section explains each pathway and its requirements in detail.
You must complete three general practice training terms (18 months FTE) as part of your core vocational training requirements. Generally, placement is for at least one term, and up to two terms (2652 calendar weeks). This will prepare you for working across the breadth of Australian general practice.
Fellow eligibility be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of commencing the Fellowship. not be a permanent resident or be applying for permanent residency in Australia or partner of someone who is. be a citizen of an eligible country. not be current serving military personnel.
Vocational training towards RACGP Fellowship (FRACGP) is three years full-time (or part-time equivalent). The first year consists of hospital training (12 months), followed by general practice placements (18 months) and extended skills (six months).
