General Outline Scholarships are tenable from April each year. Grantees will hold their award for five to seven years, including the one-year preparatory education in the Japanese language. The Japanese Government provides return airfare, school fees and a monthly grant of 117,000 (subject to change).
Each grantee will be provided monthly with 143,000 yen(Research Students(non-regular students),144,000yen (regular students in Masters courses or professional graduate courses), or 145,000yen(regular students in doctoral courses).

Requirements: Be between 18 and 30 years old. Have completed 12 years of education or have a high school diploma. Be enrolled as an undergraduate student in a country outside of Japan before applying and be able to return to that institution upon your return from Japan.
