Standard Mail A (circulars, books, catalogs, and advertising mail) is not forwarded unless requested by the mailer. Standard Mail B (packages weighing 16 ounces or more) are forwarded locally for 12 months at no charge. You pay forwarding charges if you move outside the local area.

What type of mail can be forwarded without additional postage?

All Express Mail, First-Class Mail, Periodicals, and Package Services addressed to a discontinued post office may be forwarded without added charge to a post office that the addressee designates as more convenient than the office to which the USPS ordered the mail sent.

Can USPS forward all mail?

First-Class mail and periodicals (newsletters and magazines) are forwarded for free. Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, and USPS Ground Advantage items are forwarded for free. Media Mail items are forwarded, but you must pay the cost for shipping from your local Post Office to your temporary address.

Is junk mail forwarded by USPS?

Non-first class mail consists of (Marketing/junk, presorted STD, presorted standard stamp, or current resident, EDDM/ECRWSS/ECRWSH, charity, political, non-profit) is NOT forwarded via an USPS COA (change of address).
