In all districts, a freestanding accessory structure that exceeds a height of 12 feet must be located a minimum distance equal to the structures height from the rear lot line. For example, a detached garage that is 15 feet tall must be 15 feet away from the rear lot line.
The Building Official shall be an ex officio member and act as the secretary of the Board. The Accessibility Appeals Board may approve or disapprove interpretations and enforcement actions taken by the Building Official.
Enforcement of the USBC is the responsibility of the local governments building inspections department. The local governing body may charge fees to defray the costs of enforcement and appeals arising from the application of the code. The USBC contains enforcement procedures that must be used by the enforcing agency.
