Player Assessment An invaluable tool used in youth sports, the assessment process is a guide for players, parents, and coaches that identifies the skill level of each individual player so as to properly place them in the appropriate level of play. The assessment process is NOT a tryout.
Completion of peer evaluation forms Add the names of your group members, alphabetically by family name. Please do not use nicknames or adopted English names. Give each member of your group, including yourself, a score using a scale of 0-5 [where 0 = no contribution and 5 = exemplary contribution].
Attitude and Personal Traits Some of the traits coaches look for in a player include: Motivation: A commitment to hard work, determination, practice, and dedication. Resilience: Being able to cope with adverse situations and stay focused on the task at hand.
As a coach, you will want to rate the players on athleticism by grading their physical qualities such as speed, aggressiveness, and strength, and you will also want to rate their technique by grading their ball handling skills, passing ability, and shooting skills.
When you fill the form: Be honest and critical. Analyze your failures and mention the reasons for it. Keep the words minimal. Identify weaknesses. Mention your achievements. Link achievements to the job description and the organizations goals. Set the goals for the next review period. Resolve conflicts and grievances.
