The school offers one of the top CNA classes in North Carolina. This nurse aide 1 training program consists of 202 hours of clinical and classroom studies. In most cases, students can complete this program in three months. Upon completion of the course, learners may sit for the state certification exam.
Student must complete the state-approved Nurse Aide I training program. If you did not complete a North Carolina state-approved training but wish to test, you may be eligible for a training waiver. Please review the Candidate Handbook or visit the North Carolina website.
The state approved course requires the individual to complete 75 hours of classroom training, 100 hours of on-the-job training and successfully complete a two part final examination. The two part final examination includes a written (or oral) and practicum examination.
Part I is a combination of 20 hours didactic or classroom and 20 hours supervised laboratory and clinical instruction. Part II is advanced training and should include a minimum of 25 hours didactic/classroom instruction combined with 25 hours supervised clinical instruction in a licensed adult care home environment.
