WMO is the United Nations systems authoritative voice on the state and behaviour of the Earths atmosphere, its interaction with the land and oceans, the weather and climate it produces and the resulting distribution of water resources.
Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the WMO is governed by the World Meteorological Congress, composed of member states, which meets every four years to set policies and priorities. The Congress is led by an Executive Council led by the President, currently Abdulla Al Mandous of UAE.
Through the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office, WMO (World Meteorological Organization) participates in pooled funds that bring together UN entities and public and private sector partners. Since 2016 US$ 23,870,897 have been allocated to WMO (World Meteorological Organization) in 1 pooled funds contributing to SDGs.
