Before you pay the I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Fee, you must receive the Form I-20 from a DSO at the school you plan to attend.
Once an international student is accepted into a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)-certified school, their designated school official (DSO) will issue them a Form I-20, Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status.
Federal regulations state that only a DSO at an SEVP-certified school may issue a Form I-20 to a prospective or continuing nonimmigrant student, or to an accompanying dependent. Third parties are not permitted to issue the Form I-20 to a student or to have the Form I-20 issued directly to them.
Print Draft Form I-20 Go to the Student Information page. Click Print Draft I-20. An Open or Save option displays at the bottom of the Student Information page. Click Open. The DRAFT Form I-20 opens in PDF format. Click Print icon. Click Close on PDF copy.
Once accepted into a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)-certified school, nonimmigrant students will receive a Form I-20 from their designated school official (DSO). You must also obtain a Form I-20 for any eligible dependents you plan to bring to the United States with you.
