Delaware will pay $102 million in unclaimed property funds to a coalition of states, including Pennsylvania, as part of a recent legal settlement. Pennsylvania and Arkansas led the bloc of states that sued Delaware for its collection of unclaimed property outside of its borders.
The settlement resolved the damages question. In sum, Delaware agreed to transfer $102 million of escheated MoneyGram funds to the states and relinquish its claim to the additional $89 million that MoneyGram deposited into an escrow account while the litigation was pending.
