Music Performance scores are averagedpossible 20 points. Visual Performance scores are averagedpossible 20 points. The Music and Visual averages are added to the General Effect Music total (40) and G.E. visual score (20) for a possible total of 100 points. Any penalties are then deducted to calculate the final score.
What is an adjudication in music?
The definition of adjudication is a formal judgment. Expect adjudicators to assess your ensemble based on the composers score. Adjudicators should hear from the performing ensemble what they seeprinted in the music.
How is the marching band judged?
Success at the area and state marching contests is decided based on rankings of the competing bands compared with one another. To determine this, five judges (three for music performance and two for marching execution) record comments on the performance and assign a number score to record their impression of each band.
How is marching band class determined?
Bands will be classified ing to school size, determined by average grade enrollment (total high school enrollment divided by four for 9 -12 schools or by three for 10 -12 schools). Bands are permitted to move from their qualifying class to a class with higher enrollment, by their own choosing.
