While not a persistent, widespread problem, the Swimmers Itch parasite is believed to be present in lakes Mead and Mohave. While found in warm, shallow waters anywhere from only a few weeks to an entire summer, the parasite is not a life-threatening concern, but one that can cause some discomfort.

the 2 strokes have been banned on the lake and I believe all national recreational areas. They can still be used on the river( Colorado) just below davis dam and can still be used down river on lake havasu. Can launch at Davis camp.
This lake is so clear, you can easily see the bottom 15 feet down, there are many things to see on and around this huge lake. Sandy beaches, the back of the davis dam, the sleeping warrior, camp grounds, a wrecked houseboat and many others. there are toilet facilities in many areas around the lake as well.
