Cadets ebb and flow, some join later in the program, some take longer to finish their degree and take an extra year, but most do not make it through the program. AFROTC is not hard, but it is time consuming and you have to want it to make it through.
What are the GPA requirements to be an AFROTC cadet? To be in AFROTC, non-scholarship cadets must have and maintain a minimum CGPA of at least 2.0. Scholarship cadets must have a minimum TGPA of at least 2.5.
To be eligible to join AFROTC, each cadet must meet the following requirements: Be enrolled in an accredited college that hosts or has a crosstown agreement with an Air Force ROTC detachment. Be a U.S. citizen after freshman year. Be in good physical condition (cadets must pass the Fitness Assessment)
BASIC ELIGIBILITY and mathematics section of the SAT and does not require scores from the writing section of the ACT. To be eligible for scholarship consideration, the student must achieve an SAT critical reading/math composite of 1100 or an ACT score of 24 and attain a cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 3.0.
ROTC Scholarship Requirements: 2.5 + High School GPA required to compete for a U.S. Army ROTC Scholarship based on 4.0 system and unweighted (GED=2.5 GPA)
