All star cheerleading is different than school cheerleading in more ways than one, and the tryout process is the first thing that sets the two apart. Whether you are trying out for an all star team for the first or ninth time, there are always nerves that need to be settled.
The first things to look for during tryouts are ability and technique. Of course not everyone will be an experienced cheerleader, and some of your new additions will require more work than others. However, the skill level of your team as a whole will strongly affect your success throughout the year.
TRYOUT EVALUATION PROCESS Register for evaluation on customer portal. Register and Pay HERE. Bring a copy of birth certificate required for team placement and validation for USASF. On day and time chosen come into the gym area and perform your skills. Placement will be based on skills performed during evaluations.
Rather than a traditional tryout format that a school might use, All star uses evaluations to create teams. These evaluations are weighted heavily on tumbling, and coaches will expect you to have all of the required skills for a level in order to be placed on that level-specific team.
Here are 10 things not to do at tryouts! Do NOT overdo it on makeup. Everyone in the cheer world knows: eyes, lips, and cheeks are a must. Do NOT wing it. Do NOT stay up late the night before. Do NOT skip breakfast. Do NOT over stress. Do NOT be unprepared. Do NOT frown. Do NOT wear unnecessary accessories.

People also ask

If you have cheered before, theyll ask you about stunting and tumbling and may ask you to demonstrate. If you havent, have no fear. Theyll walk you through it. A standard tryout will include learning and performing a few cheers and possibly doing a short dance, basic jumps, stunting, or tumbling.
Eat the right foods, keep your body well nourished and well hydrated. Keep doing your conditioning exercises unless they give you a workout packet which some schools will. Keep tumbling, practice your cheers, chants and band dances, and make sure you know them well!
