The Saint Louis Zoo is legally classified as a tax-supported political subdistrict of the State of Missouri. Essentially, the Zoo is a government agency and has restrictions on how it raises and spends money.
The Saint Louis Zoo Association is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, serving the needs of the Saint Louis Zoological Park.
To adopt a harbor seal, orders can be submitted online at stlzoo.org/valentine, by calling 314-646-4771 and selecting option 2, at the Zoos North Entrance Welcome Desk during open hours, or at the South Entrance Welcome Desk on Saturdays and Sundays.
