Edmon Low Library | Oklahoma State University.
In 1953, the Edmon Low Library, with its elegant Georgian style, opened and quickly became a focal point for campus pride. Its six floors were designed to house 1 million volumes and provide seating for 2,500. The building employed free-standing bookstacks allowing users to browse freely.
Low was the head librarian at Oklahoma A M College 1940-1967. Prior to coming to Oklahoma A M College as librarian in March of 1940, Low served as assistant librarian at East Central State college for seven years and was head librarian for two years, 1938-1940, at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
