Definition and Purpose of the Declaration of Security Template

The Declaration of Security Form, under the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, serves as a critical document outlining the security responsibilities and measures between a ship and a port facility. This form details essential information such as the ship's name, port of registry, International Maritime Organization (IMO) number, and the duration for which security activities are valid. It provides a comprehensive framework for the collaboration and agreement between maritime and port facility stakeholders to ensure compliance with international security protocols. The form specifies distinct security levels, activities to be monitored, and the responsibilities of each party in maintaining these security measures.

How to Use the Declaration of Security Template

Using the DECLARATION OF SECURITY template involves a structured process that ensures both ship and port facility parties agree on security measures. To begin, gather all necessary identifiers such as the ship's name, IMO number, and port of registry. The template typically includes fields for key security aspects, such as security levels and activities. Collaboratively, the ship and port facility security officers must fill in the form, delineating the duties and specific security measures agreed upon. The signed form acts as a formalized agreement that both parties must follow during the ship's stay at the port facility.

  • Collect relevant data: Ship and port identifiers.
  • Assign responsibilities: Define security roles for both the ship and port.
  • Agree on security measures: Outline procedures and activities to monitor.
  • Obtain signatures: Signatures from authorized personnel ensure agreement.
