Qualifying criteria The Cadet Forces Medal (CFM) and Clasps are awarded to officers and uniformed adult instructors in recognition of long service of proved capacity in the Cadet Forces. 12 years reckonable service is required for award of the medal.
Requests for replacement medals should be directed as follows: Soldiers on Active Duty or currently serving in the ARNG or USAR: Contact your Unit Commander. Army Retirees and Veterans who have terminated their service prior to 1 October 2002 must submit requests to the National Personnel Records Center.
The Cadet Forces Medal is awarded to recognise long and efficient service by Commissioned Officers and non commissioned adult instructors of the UK Cadet Forces. Authorised by a Royal warrant it is awarded for 12 years service. Additional clasps are issued for 6 additional years in the UK. SSI.
Medal recipients are selected by the professors of military science or the programs senior instructor. Recipients must have demonstrated loyalty and patriotism and earned a record of military and scholastic achievement during their participation in an ROTC or JROTC program.
