The Kansas Nurse Practice Act is outlined in the Kansas Statutes Annotated (K.S.A.) Chapter 65-1113 through 65-1165. It establishes the Kansas State Board of Nursing, which oversees licensure, standards of practice, and disciplinary actions.
Generally speaking, the Medical Practice Act defines the scope and limits of the rules IDFPR may make to govern the practice of medicine, but within these limits IDFPR has broad discretion. These rules apply to physicians with M.D., D.O., or D.C. degrees and students who are studying for these degrees.
Licensure is a fundamental component of the NPA. To become a licensed nurse, individuals must meet specific educational and credentialing requirements set forth by their states Board of Nursing (BON). This process includes passing the NCLEX exam and fulfilling any additional state-specific criteria.
RN, LPN, and APRN are required 30 contact hours every two years. LMHT are required 30 contact hours every two years.
The Nurse Practice Act is in place to protect the health and safety of the public by setting minimum standards for licensure and practice in Arizona.
