The requirements state that: Students who: (1) begin college as a freshman at a UW System campus, (2) earn a minimum of 24 transferable degree credits and (3) have a 2.0 GPA [3.20 for UW-Madison] are guaranteed admission to the UW System institution to which the student is transferring.
If you choose to apply only to community colleges with a guaranteed transfer, and not to four-year colleges, you will most likely find an enormous reduction in the stress usually associated with the college application processand with college tuition bills.
Prior to applying for transfer admission, students must have completed (or be completing) at least 24 semester hours of transferable course work. This essentially equates to one year of college-level study. We do not accept transfer students at the freshman level.
Transfer Admission Requirements Enroll as a new freshman in an associates or bachelors degree program at any UW campus post high school graduation. Submit the Declaration of Intent to Participate. Earn a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 2.0 gpa term prior to transfer as determined by UWMadison computation.
