How much does it cost to renew a concealed carry permit in Colorado?

Renewal application fees are $63.00. A late fee of $15.00 will be added to the renewal application if the permit is expired less than 6 months (if your permit has expired, you may no longer carry concealed).

Can I renew my concealed carry permit online in Colorado?

For renewal permits, there is a non-refundable $63 processing fee. There is a $15 late fee for any permit that has expired. No permit shall be renewed six months or more after its expiration date and the permit shall be deemed permanently expired.

How long is a concealed carry permit valid in Colorado?

The Concealed Handgun Permit is valid for 5 years from date of issuance, and it will automatically expire unless renewed. A Renewal application may be submitted through the Concealed Handgun Permit portal no more than 120 days prior to the permit expiration date and up to 6 months after the expiration date.

Does Colorado accept online concealed carry certification?

An initial concealed handgun training class must provide at least 8 hours of instruction, including the live-fire exercise and written exam. Beginning July 1, 2025, the act requires an applicant to renew a permit to demonstrate competence with a handgun.

Can I renew my Colorado concealed carry permit online?

We accept renewal CHP applications online only. A valid personal email address is required for all applicant submissions. Effective July 1, 2025, all renewal and new CHP applicants must have a certificate from a verified instructor to proceed with your application.
