How long does a judgment lien last in Oregon? A judgment lien in Oregon will remain attached to the debtors property (even if the property changes hands) for ten years.
Under Oregon law, a Wage Garnishment can last up to a maximum of 90 days from when it is delivered. It will stop earlier than that if the debt is paid in full. Unfortunately, there is no restriction under Oregon law to stop a creditor from issuing a new Wage Garnishment once the first garnishment expires.
For example, the Oregon statute of limitations is six years for contract and property damage cases, and two years for personal injury matters. Other limitations periods exist, depending on the type of action. If you dont file within the proper period, you lose your right to sue.
For non-governmental judgments, they last for 10 (yep, ten) years. And, so long as the creditor files a renewal prior to the expiration of that ten-year term, it is renewed for another 10 years.
If you have received a judgment and the defendant refuses to pay it, you may be able to have their wages or bank account garnished. The court does not provide garnishment forms. The forms may be purchased at a store that sells legal forms.

Way too long to ignore. For non-governmental judgments, they last for 10 (yep, ten) years. And, so long as the creditor files a renewal prior to the expiration of that ten-year term, it is renewed for another 10 years.
Oregons statute of limitations on judgments is ten years, meaning that if the creditor goes to court before your contractual statute of limitations has expired, they can receive a judgment that allows them to pursue you on the debt for up to ten years and not the original six years.
You can try and get your money (called enforcing your judgment) by asking the court for: a warrant of control. an attachment of earnings order. a third-party debt order. a charging order.
If youve won your case, but the person refuses to pay, one option is to have part of their salary seized to get your money. The funds seized will then be paid into to the court office, which will send you cheques until the debt is paid in full. You can hire a bailiff to take the necessary steps for this.
Except as provided in this subsection, judgment remedies for a judgment in a criminal action expire 20 years after the entry of the judgment. Judgment remedies for a judgment in a criminal action that includes a money award for restitution expire 50 years after the entry of the judgment.
