However if I was in a similar situation what Id do is - just upload a fresh set of documents (click on New OCI Registration at the passport.gov.in/oci site and then choose Fresh Application). Youll get a new reference number (e.g. GBRL), then go to VFS and submit your paperwork based on that.
These documents may be uploaded by the OCI cardholder within 3 months of receipt of the new passport.
OCI card is required to be re-issued each time a new passport is acquired by the cardholder up to the age of 20 years.
