To start working in Edit mode, do one of the following: Double-click the cell that contains the data that you want to edit. Click the cell that contains the data that you want to edit, and then click anywhere in the formula bar. Click the cell that contains the data that you want to edit, and then press F2.
On the worksheet, click a cell. Type the numbers or text that you want to enter, and then press ENTER or TAB. To enter data on a new line within a cell, enter a line break by pressing ALT+ENTER.
In the TextEdit app on your Mac, choose File Open. Select the document, then click Open. If your document is stored in iCloud Drive, you can select TextEdit in the iCloud section of the sidebar, then double-click your document. See Use iCloud Drive to store documents.
Replace text or numbers with the Find Replace Press Ctrl+H or go to Home Find Select Replace. In Find what, type the text or numbers you want to find. You can further define your search: In the Replace with box, enter the text or numbers you want to use to replace the search text. Select Replace or Replace All.
If a worksheet or presentation is locked for editing and cant be edited in the Windows desktop applications, it may be that the file is already being edited by someone else, or they have the file checked out.
Go to File Open and browse to the location that contains the text file. Select Text Files in the file type dropdown list in the Open dialog box. Locate and double-click the text file that you want to open. If the file is a text file (.txt), Excel starts the Import Text Wizard.
Find and Replace Feature Click and drag your mouse across multiple cells to limit the search to only those cells. Hold the Ctrl-H keys to open the Find and Replace window. Enter the text you wish to replace in the Find What field. Enter the text you wish to use for replacement in the Replace With field.
On the Home tab, click the Format Cell Font popup launcher. You can also press Ctrl+Shift+F or Ctrl+1. In the Format Cells popup, in the Protection tab, uncheck the Locked box and then click OK. This unlocks all the cells on the worksheet when you protect the worksheet.
The Microsoft Excel Viewer is a small, freely redistributable program that lets you view and print Microsoft Excel spreadsheets if you dont have Excel installed. Additionally, the Excel Viewer can open workbooks that were created in Microsoft Excel for Macintosh.
Press Crtl + H on your keyboard. Alternatively, go to the Editing group under the Home tab, click Find Select and click Replace. In the Find and Replace dialog box, type the character or text you want to remove in the Find what field. Leave the Replace with field blank.
