State Identification cards are valid for 8 years. The cost for a new or renewal is $40. For non-immigrants, your expiration date is dependent on your admit to date. The fee is $5 per year or fraction thereof.
It costs $40 except for those that have legal presence limited terms for their legal stay in the United States. If the state ID is for a person under the age of 14, a parent or guardian must make the application. You will be issued a temporary paper ID. The card will be mailed to you within 6 8 weeks.
Anyone who has never held a Hawaii State Identification Card, must apply in-person and provide documentary proof of legal name, date of birth, social security number, legal presence and Hawaii principal residence address. A photograph must also be taken.
Hawaii State Identification Cards are available at any of the Vehicle Registration Licensing offices. You are allowed to hold one (1) Real ID compliant credential.
You must appear in person and present your identification card or if you have lost or damaged your card, you must provide 2 identifiable documents (i.e. social security card and birth certificate). Complete and print the State Identification Application for duplicate.
