As long as youve fulfilled all the requirements for your degree, then youve graduated. Whether you choose to walk or skip officially known as graduating in absentia youll receive your degree in the mail in the weeks following the end of your final term.
In the departmental ceremonies, graduates cross the stage and receive individual recognition, and these events are focused only on the graduates in your degree program. You can attend either or both of these ceremonies. All ceremonies are optional; there is no requirement to participate in any commencement ceremony.
