IATSE Local 122 has issued the following release on the newly ratified agreement with Encore Global: San Diego, CA After several months of collective action, IATSE Local 122 is proud to announce the ratification of a new collective bargaining agreement with Encore Global.
Tentative agreements (TA) are proposed collective bargaining agreements that have not been ratified (approved) by union leaders and the Board of Trustees. Union members use tentative agreements to help inform their voting when its time to ratify new agreements.
This agreement protects current ILA jobs and establishes a framework for implementing technologies that will create more jobs while modernizing East and Gulf coast ports making them safer and more efficient, and creating the capacity they need to keep our supply chains strong.
The IATSE Basic Agreement has also included updates to improve crew members working conditions. Triple time will be paid after 15 hours elapsed in a workday, except where a better condition applies. Traveling only days will now pay pension and health benefits.
