To qualify for net energy metering at PGE: Your generator size must be less than or equal to 1 megawatt (1,000 kilowatts). Your generating system must be powered by an eligible renewable power source. You are not interconnecting to a secondary network distribution line.
PGE does not apply fees to start service. In some cases, PGE may require you to pay a deposit upon starting service. Once you have fulfilled the deposit requirements, your deposit amount, plus any interest accrued, will be given back to you as a credit on your PGE account.
Costs and other considerations There is an interconnection application fee of $145 for all NEM2 programs sized at 1MW or less.
On April 15, 2023, NEM 2.0 closed to new customers and a new Solar Billing Plan went into effect. NEM accounts will continue to bill under the current NEM program until the 20-year period expires, or until the account loses eligibility to remain on the NEM program, whichever is earlier.
