1. Click ‘Get Form’ to open the DROS in the editor.
2. Select the type of action you are requesting: Cancellation or Correction. If cancelling, complete Sections A and B; if correcting, complete Sections A, B, and C.
3. Fill in the Date of DROS Cancellation/Correction, Firearm Dealer (CFD) Number, DROS Number, and Firearm Dealer Name along with their Telephone Number.
4. Enter the Date of Purchase and Purchaser's Name (First and Last), along with their Date of Birth and California Driver License or Identification Number.
5. In Section B, provide all Firearm Information originally reported to DOJ including Make, Model, Color, Caliber, Serial Number, Barrel Length, Origin of Gun, and Firearm Type.
6. If correcting information in Section C, enter corrected details in only one field. If multiple corrections are needed, cancel the transaction and submit a new DROS.
7. Finally, sign as the Dealer or Sales Person and print your name before mailing or faxing it to the Department of Justice.
