A Poker run (also known as a Poker Derby), is an organized event using a motorcycle, boat, car or other form of transportation where participants travel over a predesignated route and, at designated stops on the route, draw playing card(s). The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run.
Rules of the Poker Run: An Overview Kick-off End Point: Every poker run has a defined starting point and a finish line. Checkpoints: Along the predetermined route, there are 5-7 checkpoints. The Best Hand Wins: After visiting all the checkpoints, participants head to the finish line.
You start out with a list of stops, and for each stop you get to draw a playing card. Usually there are five stops. Sometimes there are seven and the player takes the best five cards for their hand. At the final destination the player with the best over all poker hand wins.
A poker run is not a race, its a different way to play poker while riding a motorcycle, although it can be done without motorcycles and replace them with cars or actual bicycles. Youll need a total of 5 stops; each stop should be a good ride in between, not one right after the other.
