Sweet Frog, the ubiquitous frozen yogurt shop, almost never came to be, founder Derek Cha revealed at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business' first Ten-Ten Talk of the semester. Before he opened Sweet Frog, Cha owned a window framing business that grew into a chain.
Why is it called sweetFrog?
He opened the first Sweet Frog shop in Richmond, Virginia in 2009, at a time when the United States economy was in a recession. Cha founded Sweet Frog on Christian principles. The "FROG" part of the name, according to Cha, is actually an acronym for "Fully Rely on God". Sweet Frog Enterprises, LLC.
