Completion Bonus Grant Program This program provides completion bonus grants that support the construction of new dispatchable electric generating facilities of 100 MW or more in the ERCOT power region. The Completion Bonus Grant Program will accept applications through the TEF Portal beginning January 1, 2025.
The Texas LoanSTAR (Saving Taxes and Resources) Revolving Loan finances energy-related, cost-reduced retrofits of facilities supported by the state, including public school districts and public colleges and universities, as well as units of local government such as counties, cities, towns, public hospital taxing
The TEF loans, which must have a term of 20 years with an interest rate of 3%, may be used to either finance upgrades to existing dispatchable generation facilities that increase capacity by at least 100 MW or fund the construction of new dispatchable generation projects with a minimum capacity of 100 MW.
Program Overview This program provides low-interest loans to qualifying companies for the construction of new dispatchable generation capacity to the grid. The In-ERCOT Generation Loan Program application period closed on July 27, 2024.
The Outside ERCOT Grant (OEG) Program will provide funding for transmission and distribution infrastructure or electric generating facilities in Texas outside of the ERCOT power region.
