The spouse of a veteran with a 100% disability rating is entitled to benefits, including healthcare and educational. The veteran is also entitled to additional monetary help for the spouse and for other eligible dependents.
How much does a surviving spouse get from a 100% disabled veteran? For a veteran with no spouse, the monthly VA disability pay for 2024 is $3,737.85. If the veteran has a spouse but no children, the monthly pay increases to $3,946.25. With one spouse and one child, the monthly compensation rises to $4,098.87.
The Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP)/Minimum Income Annuity (MIW) limitation is $11,380. If you have more than 1 child, add $2,902 to your MAPR amount for each additional child. If you have a child who works, you may exclude their wages up to $15,000.
