JV stands for Junior Varsity. Its typically made up of freshmen and sophomores (15-16 year olds). Varsity is the senior team made up primarily of juniors and seniors (17-18 year olds). If a player is particularly skilled, they may play varsity sooner than is typical.
SENIORS Senior athletes are not eligible for Junior Varsity competition and shall not play on any JV team in any sport. Exceptions: Cross Country (see the Cross Country By-Laws for specific details) and by consent of the League Commissioner. Also see Eligibility of New Students above.
Junior varsity (JV) players are typically first- or second-year high school students in the process of beefing up their athletic skills, but JV teams can also include juniors and seniors.
Beginning with students entering grade 9 in 2018-2019, and thereafter, a student who docHubed 19 on or after September 1st, and who has not exceeded his/her four year limit of eligibility, may participate in Interscholastic athletics during that school year.
This document is a preparticipation physical evaluation form for a high school student. It collects medical history information over 3 pages and asks about any prior injuries or illnesses that could impact athletic participation. The form must be kept on file by the school.
