After you submit your application for protective supervision, your county IHSS office will contact you to schedule an assessment. Generally, the county must process your application and mail you a notice of action within 30 days from when you completed the application.
Parent/ caregiver has a history of protecting. Some examples include: raising children (now older) with no history of maltreatment, has demonstrated ways of protecting their child(ren) by separating them from dangerous situations, or has sought assistance from others.
Hours per Week for Services You must tell your IHSS worker about this additional need during the needs assessment process. Protective supervision hours will be provided for up to 195 hours per month or 283 hours, depending on the severity of the impairment and the persons IHSS program.
