The IHSS Protective Supervision 24-Hours-A-Day Coverage Plan (SOC 825) is an optional form for County use. The SOC 825 is intended to ensure that recipients who need Protective Supervision have the 24-hours of care needed for their health and safety 24 hours a day.
Recipients of IHSS protective supervision services whose hours were prorated may receive a retroactive benefits payment once their hours are adjusted for services provided after July 1, 2020. The method of payment for retroactive benefits may vary by county.
Under the CFCO subprogram, if you get protective supervision and are severely impaired, you can get 283 hours per month of IHSS. If you get protective supervision and are non-severely impaired, you can get 195 hours of protective supervision plus other services you need up to 283 hours per month.
Who Can Get Protective Supervision? Three criteria that a person must meet in order to be granted PS. limitations in memory, orientation and/or Judgment. and an inability to self-direct their behaviors to keep them safe and free from harm or injury.
Protective Supervision is available to safeguard against accident or hazard by observing and/or monitoring the behavior of. non self-directing, confused, mentally impaired or mentally ill persons.
