Duplicate (Lost the Original Title) $10.00 fee.
A Kansas motor vehicle power of attorney (Form TR-41) grants another person the authority to sign and act on behalf of a vehicle owner in certain circumstances. The form allows the representative to transfer and endorse the vehicle title, and to apply for a new certificate of title or registration.
Depending on the length of time between the date of purchase and date of application, a title (with no lienholder) may be received from 10 to 40 days after the date of application, unless further research or documentation is required.
There are two entry doors to our office. Please use the east door labeled General Public Entrance. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM 4:30PM. The general public will generally be able to obtain a duplicate title or lien release title on a same day basis (typically within 30 minutes).
Once the first lienholder has been paid off, they may submit their lien release electronically (if they are members of the KS E-Lien system), or by providing it to the owner who will then submit it to the local county treasurers office or fax it to the Titles and Registrations Bureau at 785-296-2383.

People also ask

How do I get a title for it? You will need to file a Quiet Title action with your local District Court. Once this is completed, bring your vehicle and the final court order to your nearest Kansas Highway Patrol VIN inspection station for inspection.
If you lost a title that did not have a lien listed on the face of the document, you must fill out an application for a duplicate title (TR-720B) and bring it, along with a copy of current vehicle registration, to any one of the tag offices.
