Reemployment Assistance (also referred to as unemployment insurance) provides temporary wage replacement benefits to qualified individuals who are out of work through no fault of their own.
You are entitled to a maximum benefit amount of $3,300. You will continue to receive Reemployment Assistance weekly for up to 12 weeks. When you secure a job, the payments will stop. However, working part-time or temporarily does not necessarily end the benefits.
In 2015, the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) program replaced the REA program providing greater access to reemployment services in addition to services previously provided under the REA program.
In 2012, legislation passed in Florida changed the name of Floridas Unemployment Compensation Law to the Reemployment Assistance Program Law. The focus of the program was redirected to help Floridas job seekers become reemployed.
