Who is eligible for Fair PharmaCare? All residents of B.C. are eligible for Fair PharmaCare coverage if they: Have Medical Services Plan (MSP) coverage, and. Give PharmaCare permission to check their income with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
MSP is the provincial insurance program that pays for required medical services. These include medically necessary services provided by physicians and midwives, dental and oral surgery performed in a hospital, eye examinations if medically required and some orthodontic services.
Once the Family Deductible has been met, PharmaCare covers 70% of eligible costs until the Family Maximum is met. After you meet the Family Maximum, PharmaCare covers 100% of eligible costs. After this deductible is paid, PharmaCare will cover 100% of eligible costs for the rest of the year.
Note: mail registration is the slowest way to register. If you require Fair pharmaCare coverage urgently, you can register online at .health.gov.bc.ca/pharme/ or call 604 683-7151 (Lower mainland) or 1 800 663-7100 (rest of BC).
