Answer: Jurors are expected to dress in a manner reflective of the formality of the court proceedings. Business casual attire is acceptable, clothing such as tank or halter tops, shorts, t-shirts, blue jeans or sweat pants is not appropriate to wear while you are sitting as a juror.
When you call the automated jury message system at 1-866-388-2430, it will ask you to enter your 9-digit participant number shown on your summons. The message will tell you whether or not you are scheduled to report for jury service.
Not going to court on the date you have been summoned for jury service is a violation of state law and you may be ordered to pay a fine. You may postpone your jury service to a date within ten months of your original summons date.
If you are not selected for a trial, you remain on call for the remainder of your two month service. Please call the night before your scheduled summons date and you will receive updated reporting instructions.
Juror Parking: Free Parking is available on a first come first serve basis at either the Granite Square Parking Garage (700 State St.) or the State and Audubon Surface Lot #38 (Sign faces State St).
