What are the eligibility requirements to enroll? Louisiana residents between the ages of 16 and 18 are eligible to attend YCP. Applicants should have a strong desire to complete a structured and disciplined program, and must attend an interview in order to apply.
YCP Member Eligibility We encourage all youth to consider applying for YCP positions. Must be at least 15 by June 1 of the program year and may not be older than 18 years old before August 31 of the program year. Must be enrolled in school or a 2024 graduate.
The Louisiana National Guard Youth Challenge Program (YCP) is a FREE alternative educational program that offers adolescents an opportunity to change their futures.
The NGYCP is open to young men and women that will be 16-18 years old when they enter the program. Additionally, applicants must: Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident of the United States. Be docHubly behind or no longer working toward a high school diploma or the equivalent.
The NGYCP is a Defense Department program administered by the National Guard Bureau. Its goal is to get teenagers on track toward graduating from high school and on to a promising future.
