Each judge scores a dive between zero and 10 points, in half-point increments. Judges evaluate the following parts of a dive to determine an overall score: Approach: Three or more steps forward to the end of the board before the hurdle and takeoff. Should be smooth but forceful, showing good form.
Individual events are scored by a panel of seven judges who recommend a score between 0 (completely failed) to 10 (excellent). The top two scores and the bottom two scores are discarded; the remaining three scores are added together and multiplied by the dives difficulty rating, known as the degree of difficulty.
In order to prevent outlier scores from significantly impacting a divers ranking, the highest and lowest scores are not considered when calculating a dives total score. Scores that are not considered are crossed out. For individual events, a divers two highest and two lowest scores are crossed out.
Temperature Regulation: Divers often shower to regulate their body temperature. After a dive, they may feel cold due to the water, and a warm shower can help them maintain optimal muscle function and prevent stiffness.
Deficient: 2.5 to 4.5 points. Satisfactory: 5 to 6 points. Good: 6.5 to 8 points. Very good: 8.5 to 10 point.

The highest two scores and lowest two scores are eliminated, leaving only three scores by which divers are evaluated. Those scores are then added together to determine a divers execution score. The execution score is then multiplied by the dives difficulty ranking, which then results in a divers total score.
