PPQ Form 587: Application for Permit to Import Plants or Plant Products. This permit is for the importation of admissible (not subject to post-entry) plant material from foreign sources. The application is submitted to USDA and not subject to review by CDFA.
This amendment applies to lumber imports from outside of the United States and will affect a number of products, including paper, plywood, furniture, and other wood products.
Under the Lacey Act, importers of certain plants, plant products, and items that contain plant materials, are required to submit a declaration stating the imported plants scientific name, value, quantity, and country where the plant was harvested.
