What is pointguard? A bonus point is an accumulated credit that authorizes the department to issue an applicant additional computer-generated random numbers during a draw. An applicant accumulates a bonus point each year in which he or she submits a valid application and does not draw a hunt permit-tag.
It is very hard to predict how long it will take to draw a tag since it depends on what hunt units are applied for, the season dates, and your weapon choice. As a rule, the hardest hunts to draw are rut hunts in premium hunt units whether they be archery, rifle, or muzzle loader hunts.
Anglers are responsible for knowing what regulations apply to the body of water they are fishing. See .azgfd.gov for up-to-date information including any changes. The following are the legal fish and general daily bag limits that apply to all fishing waters statewide.
AZGFD portal accounts now are the sole source for finding out draw results, viewing bonus points and updating your credit card information. Apply for hunts issued though the draw system when available.
The Department implements rules and policies; takes actions to conserve and manage wildlife; enforces laws that protect wildlife, public health and safety; provides information and safety education programs; and develops partnerships. Wildlife and habitat cross many boundaries and political subdivisions.
