There is no fee for renewal of a vessels documentation. A title search on a documented vessel may be initiated by requesting an Abstract of Title from the National Coast Guard Documentation Center. The bill of sale must be notarized for transactions involving a documented vessel transfer of ownership.
How do I renew my Coast Guard License? For most people your MMC renewal is as simple as filling out the CG-719B application form, including a picture of your most recent MMC, negative drug test documentation, either a TWIC exemption memo or a renewed TWIC and paying the federal fees.
To renew a Certificate of Inspection, you must submit an application at least 30 days before the expiration of the vessels current certificate. Applications are available at any U.S. Coast Guard Sector Office or Marine Inspection Office.
A Certificate of Documentation is valid for 1-5 years from the date of issue, and must be renewed on an annual basis unless the multi-year renewal fees are submitted.
Schedule Inspection for Initial Certification with cognizant OCMI at least 3 months (90 days) before inspection for certification.
