Welcome to The Schools of McKeel Academy, a not-for-profit charter school system. In 1998, we joined the charter school movement and opened the first secondary conversion charter school in Florida through a contract with the Polk County School Board.
The primary distinction lies in the age of the children. Preschool typically serves children aged 2 to 4 years, while pre-K is specifically designed for 4- and 5-year-olds in the year before kindergarten. Pre-K programs place a stronger emphasis on kindergarten readiness.
