An insurance endorsement/rider is an amendment to an existing insurance contract that changes the terms of the original policy. An endorsement/rider can be issued at the time of purchase, mid-term or at renewal time. Insurance premiums may be affected and adjusted as a result.
Last updated: November 2021. An insurance endorsement, also called a rider, is a change to your insurance policy that adjusts your coverage. Adding an endorsement to your existing insurance contract usually means adding or modifying coverage.
CG 20 26 Additional Insured - Designated Person or Organization. Adds a designated person or organization as an additional insured for liability arising out of the named insureds premises or operations. This endorsement can be used to add any interest to the policy, subject to company approval.
An endorsement may be a signature authorizing the legal transfer of a negotiable instrument between parties, or it can be an amendment to a contract or document, such as a life insurance policy or a drivers license. A public declaration of support for a person, product, or service is also called an endorsement.
An endorsement is not a separate document like a certificate. Instead, DMV places a mark directly on the physical DL and, if the license is revoked, the DL must be surrendered (in this case, a new DL application is required to get another DL).
