How many people get a Gold Award?

Yearly, GSUSA selects ten girls to be National Young Women of Distinction based on their Gold Award projects.

What are the requirements for a Gold Award?

You can become a Gold Award Girl Scout if you: Are in ninth, tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grade. Are a registered Girl Scout Senior or Ambassador. Have completed the Silver Award, a Senior/Ambassador Leadership Award, or a Senior/Ambassador Journey.

Is Gold Award harder than Eagle Scout?

Eagle Scout projects are often this short sprints of lots of work, lots of sweat and you ultimately give back to your community. To their credit, Girl Scout Gold Award Projects are much tougher. They have to do a project as well for the community with a key difference. The project cant be a sprint.

How prestigious is the Gold Award?

The Gold Award is the highest and most prestigious achievement in Girl Scouting, awarded to Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts who demonstrate exceptional leadership through projects that address a community issue.

How many hours are required for a Gold Award?
