The Fdration Internationale de lAutomobile (FIA; English: International Automobile Federation) is an international organisation with two primary functions surrounding use of the automobile.
In order for a car to participate in competitions under the auspices of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), the car must be approved by this organisation that oversees motorsport, in a process known as homologation. The homologation essentially confirms that the car complies with the rules that apply to it.
It confirms conformity to standards or categorisation criteria typically set by the sporting authority. At international and supra-national level, the FIA and FIM mandate what must be homologated, the FIA in its International Sporting Code and appendices.
The manufacturer shall send the homologation application dossier to the ASN of the country where the manufacturer is located. The ASN shall sign and stamp the test report and the homologation application template and submit the homologation application dossier to the FIA on behalf of the manufacturer.
Homologation in the automotive industry is the process of certifying that a vehicle or vehicle component complies with the regulatory and safety standards set by the relevant authorities. This process ensures that vehicles are safe, environmentally friendly, and meet specific technical requirements.

People also ask

What is a FIA HTP? A HTP is a Historic Technical Passport, an alternative form of documentation to the traditional CAMS Certificate of Description (CoD) for vehicles competing in historic racing in Australia.
Each car which competes in International historic motor sport must be in possession of a valid FIA Historic Technical Passport (HTP). The HTP is essentially a sporting document and says nothing about the authenticity, provenance, origins, etc, of a car.
